Social Justice
Keir Jones has always fought for justice: racial, economic, environmental, digital—you name it. He strongly believes in fighting for what is right—and he’s never wavered. Keir is a powerful advocate for equity and inclusion, building systemic change to increase and encourage voter turnout, and working with advocates on equality for our LGBTQ, Minority and Immigrant Communities. He believes in safety and support for Black and Brown lives and has walked in solidarity with residents for the Black Lives Matter movement. Reinforcing his dedication, Keir also championed the creation of the Diversity Coalition Committee to bring our residents together to add community oversight while also advocating for understanding during this time of community need. Keir has helped the City of Signal Hill receive a 97% Equality Score on the HRC annual survey.
Economic Inclusion & Development
Council Member Jones has also been at the forefront in support of Signal Hill’s small businesses, listening intently to their concerns as our state has weathered the Pandemic. Acknowledging small business owners' frustrations and concerns, Keir has hosted various small business town halls to provide clarity and support. Keir has also highlighted women and minority owned businesses for their resilience, strength, and contributions to our community. Regardless of where you are in life, Keir will fight to ensure you have the resources you need for upward economic mobility.
Affordable Housing For All
Council Member Jones believes that housing is one of the largest crises of our era. As we face a global Pandemic—our largest health crisis yet—we still cannot ignore the many Californians who are in deep financial stress. Many are facing eviction, homelessness, and foreclosure, both before COVID-19 and now as we move deeper through this crisis. This is why Council Member Jones has fought hard as a Signal Hill Council Member to champion new housing projects to increase supply and to help keep rents and new home prices more affordable.
